Originally Hoyt Refrigeration Co. (Picture 1955) based in Lecompte, LA manufactured and installed convenient and supermarket equipment. In
1968, Hoyt had grown large enough that they decided to move their manufacturing facility down to Lafayette, LA.
One of the salesman, Sherman Roberts decided not to move and re-purpose
the building for his own business(Robert's Refrigeration est. 1969). They continued selling walk-in coolers, supermarket cases, and shelving. In 1973 McNeely Bennett began working for Mr. Robert. He soon helped expand the product offering by selling hoods, ranges, and other kitchen equipment to restaurants.
In 1986, McNeely (Mac) bought out Mr. Roberts and changed the name to
Louisiana Food Service Equipment, Inc. Russ Bennett, Mac's son had began working for the company in 1982 and together they began bidding schools
and contract work. Russ and his wife Jackie bought the business in 1998 then moved the company out of it's original warehouse and into a new building in 2009. The company also started working on hotel chains across the U.S. during the late 90's.
Dustin, Russ' son had begun working in the family business in 2007. In 2009
the company supplied all of the equipment to the Roosevelt Hotel. During this period, Dustin witnessed the recovery efforts in the city and urged the start
of a New Orleans branch. The location on St. Charles Ave. was opened in December of 2010. From this point the NOLA branch built a loyal customer
base and an experienced team.
In July of 2015, we decided to concentrate our efforts and move everything down to New Orleans and merge the two separate companies. In order to
keep the name Louisiana Food Service Equipment that our customers had
known for decades and also adapt the NOLA Restaurant Supply & Design
name that our more recent customers have come to know, we are LFSE dba NOLA. Dustin now runs all daily operations and continues to grow the organization.
Located just 15 minutes from downtown, we have a 20,000 sq. ft. facility
with large warehouse, showroom, and meeting space. We have an additional 20,000 sq. ft. in loading and parking areas. This helps us stock the items
you need and efficiently stage the equipment for your project.
As firm believers in the core value system, we strive to be consistent in our
day to day interactions by being dependable, persistent, professional, and knowledgeable. We are members of two major buying groups for foodservice equipment and supplies which gives our customers nationally competitive pricing. We are focused on building lasting relationships and going that extra mile where it counts.
